Privacy Policy

PTE Lane ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website ptelane.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your rights in relation to it. By using our platform, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- •Account data — name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile picture, collected when you register.
- •Profile data — exam type, target score, exam date, and onboarding preferences you provide inside the app.
- •Practice & test data — your responses to practice questions and mock tests, scores, transcripts of spoken responses, and typed answers.
- •Audio recordings — voice recordings made during speaking tasks. These are uploaded to secure cloud storage and used only for AI scoring.
- •Payment data — when you purchase a plan, payment is processed by Razorpay or Lemon Squeezy. We receive only an order confirmation and your plan tier; we do not store card numbers or bank details.
- •Usage data — pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, and approximate location (country level) via standard server logs.
2. How We Use Your Data
- •To provide and personalise the service — deliver AI-scored practice, generate study plans, and track your progress.
- •To process payments and manage your subscription pass.
- •To send important account notifications (e.g. password reset, receipt). We do not send unsolicited marketing emails without your consent.
- •To improve the platform — aggregate, anonymised usage patterns help us fix bugs and improve question quality.
- •To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
3. How We Share Your Data
- •Supabase — our database and authentication provider (servers in Sydney, Australia).
- •Anthropic — your practice responses are sent to Claude AI for evaluation. Anthropic's API processes this data as a sub-processor under their data policies.
- •Cloudflare R2 — audio recordings are stored on Cloudflare's object storage.
- •Razorpay / Lemon Squeezy — payment processing. Each has its own privacy policy governing payment data.
- •We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever.
4. Data Retention
- •Your account data and practice history are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
- •Audio recordings used for scoring are not retained beyond the current session for AI processing; uploaded files are retained in your account storage until you delete them or your account is closed.
5. Data Security
- •All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the production database requires authenticated credentials with row-level security enforced — your data is not accessible to other users.
- •We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, though no internet transmission is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
- •Access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- •Correction — you can update your name, email, and profile details in My Profile at any time.
- •Deletion — you can request account and data deletion by emailing us.
- •Portability — you can request your data in a portable format.

7. Cookies
- •We use session cookies for authentication (managed by Supabase Auth) and minimal local storage for your preferences (e.g. theme). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
- •PTE Lane is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
- •We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, by email or in-app notice.
